Welcome
to the online art gallery of Joan Swanson
I work primarily in Pastel and oil paintings and create quality work
at affordable prices. I use only artist quality materials and
paint on archival surfaces. I most enjoy doing pet
portraits,
seascapes and landscapes of the New Jersey Shore and other places I
have lived and visited. I also welcome commissioned
projects.
I have taught oil painting
as well as kids drawing at Michaels stores while I lived in Arizona
and I currently teach Oil Painting and pastel at the Potters Wheel in Brielle,
NJ.

painting to be used on a new TV show featuring Patrick Swayze called
The Beast. I accepted the commission, which was a pastel of an
American Flag on a beach at sunrise. Here are screen shots of
my painting on TV
